Entrepreneurship Activity

An informal group with a goal to make indigenous mesh generation software with capabilities in geometric modeling was started in 1992. The software was to be dovetailed in geometric Modeller Zeus being developed by National Centre for Software Technology (now renamed as Centre for Development in Advanced Computing (C-DAC)). After some initial struggle, Aeronautics and Research and Development Board (AR&DB), Ministry of Defense and later on Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) funded the project partly. IIT Bombay through its Dean (R&D)s office also funded the group during very critical years. Close to 100 UG / PG / Ph. D. students and project staff contributed to this activity spanning about 10 years or so. The group succeeded in developing the software entitled IITZeus indicating its affiliation to Zeus.

The group took a new avater as Zeus Numerix Pvt. Ltd. in Aug., 2005 and got incubated by Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) IIT Bombay with IITZeus as its IP.
