Sample computed surface currents on a B2 bomber look alike aircraft
configuration at
nose on illumination
and
at broadside
illumination.
The surface grid and volume grid (structured multiblock
with 50 blocks and 13 million cells)
was made using IITZeus.
IITZeus is a surface modeler and grid generator developed by
Prof. Shevare
and his team at the department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT
Bombay.
The electromagnetic scattering by this configuration is predicted
using a Finite Volume
Time Domain (FVTD) technique to solve the Maxwell's equations
which is part of
ongoing work in Computational Electromagnetics in the department.
The surface is considered to be a Perfect Electric Conductor
(PEC) for the present computations.
Surface modeling, grid generation, application of the FVTD
solver was done by Debojyoti Ghosh
currently a third year undergraduate student along with Manoj
Vaghela. Computations are performed
on parallel computing platform.
