Students take 30 credits from any of the following. No component is
mandatory.
BTP Stage I and Stage II, 6+12
credits, over two semesters. BTP I and II should involve
6-8 and 13-15 hours of effort per week, respectively. Both stages
together should represent a unified body of work. Preferably over two
consecutive semesters. Preferably in the IIIrd and/or IVth year.
Recommended exit options:
- Student fails BTP stage I. Student may register for BTP I again
if some guide (not necessarily the original) and the student
desire. Otherwise all 30 credits to be made up
through courses.
- BTP Stage I is cleared, but registration for BTP II is not
desired. BTP stage I to be converted to a directed study (I, II or III
as the case may be). The remaining 24 credits to be
then made up through courses.
- BTP Stage I is cleared, but student fails BTP stage II. Student
may
- re-register for BTP II with the same guide
- convert BTP I to a directed study, and re-register for BTP I
with the same or different guide
- convert BTP I to a directed study, not register for BTP II, and
make up the remaining 24 credits through courses.
