Airworthy: Worthy of the air
Dictionary meaning is “fit for operation in the air”.
Airworthiness can be termed as fitness of an aeroplane for flying.
C of A, however should not be confused with certificate of fitness for flight.
Possession of a C of A does not automatically guarantee that an aircraft is fit for flying at a given point of time. It merely means that the regulatory body (DGCA) is satisfied that the aircraft is built and maintained in accordance with approved procedure.
