Admission Procedures:

  1. Preparatory stage:

    1. Review the information provided on this website.

    2. Identify the faculty members whose work aligns well with your research interests.

    3. Mandatory: Select ONE specialization from Aerodynamics (AE1), Dynamics and Control (AE2), Propulsion (AE3), and Structures (AE4), in which you will take the written test. This can be based on your research interests and that of the faculty member(s) you have identified in item B above.

    4. If your interests are cross-disciplinary, then select a primary specialization that is closest to your interests and strength. You may be considered for an interview in other specializations based on recommendations of the primary panel.

    5. Note that there are no RA seats in our department for admissions.

    6. Upload all the relevant mark sheets (Bachelors/Masters degrees), and / or transcripts. If these documents are not available, then a study certificate should be uploaded to qualify for admission.

 

  1.  The written test will be conducted on 5th December 2023 at IIT Bombay and is fully in-person / offline.

The test comprises of two parts:

    1. General comprehension and Mathematics: 15 marks

    2. Specific questions from chosen specialization: 15 marks

Results will be displayed in the Aerospace department office.

 

  1. Interview for final selection (5th, 6th, and 7th December):

    1. Final interviews will be held in-person in the Aerospace Engineering department.

    2. Duration of each interview is 15 to 45 min.

    3. Final results will be declared by the academic office.
