Announcements for PhD Admissions for Spring 2025-26

Important announcements regarding PhD admissions for the Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay, shall be posted here. It is advised to check for updates regularly.

Shortlisting criteria:

All the candidates meeting the eligibility criteria mentioned in the information brochure (A.5 and B.1) will be shortlisted for the interview.

Interview dates: 17th - 19th Nov 2025

Admission Procedure Outline:

  1. General information regarding the Ph.D. admission

  • Please visit the IIT Bombay Ph.D. admission website for detailed information about the admission process.

  • Please refer to the faculty profile on the department's website link to gain an idea of potential topics for Ph.D. research. Please also see the faculty profile slides we are sharing.

  • You will be directed to different interview panels based on the specializations you have chosen in your application.

  • You may be considered for an interview in other specializations based on the primary panel(s) recommendations.

  • Please note that there are no RA seats available in our department for admissions.

  1. INTERVIEWS FOR FINAL SELECTION:

  • Candidates invited for the interview will receive an email with the date, time, and link(s) to join the online meeting.

  • The duration of each interview is approximately 10 min to 30 min.

  • A Google form will be shared via email (the link is here: https://forms.gle/9XA3FrNwt9UKXZv98) with shortlisted candidates to indicate their preferred panel (such as AE1-Aerodynamics, AE2-Dynamics and Control, AE3-Propulsion, and AE4-Structure) for the interview.

  • Final results will be declared by the IIT Bombay academic office.
