Admission Procedure Outline:
The Ph.D. admission procedure is divided into the following stages:
- Preparatory stage (6th – 16th):
- Open-house session
- Review of information
- Selection of specialization (from Aerodynamics, Dynamics and Control, Propulsion, Structures) based on research interest
- Arrangement and installation of necessary tools for the test.
- Mandatory Mock test
- Online Written Test (17th):
- 1.5 hours exam
- 15 marks for language and math.
- 15 marks for specialization specific questions
- Results to be announced on 20th on Aerospace department website.
- Interview Round 1 (23rd – 27th):
- Short 10 – minute long interviews of the candidates shortlisted after the online written test.
- Results to be declared on 28th on Aerospace department website.
- Interview Round 2 (30th – 4th):
- 15-20 minute long panel interviews of the candidates shortlisted after interview round 1.
- Results to be declared by the academic office by mid-December.

Meeting password: g78PZ5s62QE - Study the faculty information slides and select up to 3 faculties whose work aligns well with your research interest. You also need to select the specialization based on the specialization of the faculties of your interest. Your online exam and the interviews will be based on the specialization you select. If your interests are cross-disciplinary, select the specialization closest to your liking and go through the procedure. You may be considered for an interview in the other specialization panel if found fit.
The specializations are: Aerodynamics, Dynamics and Control, Propulsion, Structures.
You are required to fill the Interest Form indicating your specialization and faculty choices by 12th 23:59. - There will be a mandatory Mock Test a week before the actual test to get familiar with the online exam setup. You can join either one of the following 3 slots: 11th / 12th / 13th November (3:00 – 4:00 PM). Not participating in the mock test will automatically disqualify you from the admission process.
- You will need to install the SAFE App on your Android or iOS phone and follow the steps mentioned in the “SAFE Logn Procedure” on the department website. Use your Department Registration Number (example: “RAE20202XXXX”) as your “Roll Number”. - Study the Standard Operating Procedure for the online exam and make necessary arrangements before the Mock test (arrange for two devices, install the necessary applications in both, identify an appropriate spot for the exam). The Standard Operating Procedure will be available on the aerospace department website by 10th
- Register for your selected specialization on SAFE App using the registration code which will be shared before the online exam, and download the quiz on the App. Appear for the online exam for your selected specialization following the guidelines. Any attempt to use unfair practices at any stage will lead to disqualification from the admission process.
- Candidates shortlisted after the test will appear for the Round 1 interviews by the panel from the selected specialization. The interview time will be allocated and communicated after the shortlisting.
- Candidates shortlisted after the Round 1 interviews will appear for Round 2 interviews by the panel from the selected specialization. The interview time will be allocated and communicated after the shortlisting.
