Action Items for the Applicants:
- Attend the open-house session after going through this page. See details in table below.
- Study the faculty information slides and identify up to 3 faculty members whose work aligns well with your research interest. You also need to select the specialization (between Aerodynamics, Dynamics and Control, Propulsion, Structures) based on the specialization of the faculty members you identified. Your online exam and the interviews will be based on the specialization you select. If your interests are cross-disciplinary, select the specialization closest to your strength and go through the procedure. You may be considered for an interview in the other specialization panel if found fit by the first one.
You are required to fill the “Specialization and Faculty Interest” form by the date mentioned in the table below, failing which you will not be able to take the written test. - There will be a mandatory Mock Test a week before the actual test to familiarize you with the online exam setup. You can join either one of the 3 slots as mentioned in table below. Not participating in the mock test will automatically disqualify you from the admission process.
- You will need to install the SAFE App on your Android or iOS phone and follow the steps mentioned in the “SAFE Login Procedure” on the department website. Use your Department Registration Number (example: “RAE20XXXXXXX”) as your “Roll Number”. You may also go through this YouTube channel for more information on SAFE.
- Study the Standard Operating Procedure available on the aerospace department website for the online exam and make necessary arrangements before the Mock test (arrange for two devices, install the necessary applications on both, and identify an appropriate spot for the exam).
- Register for your selected specialization’s online written test on the SAFE App using the registration code which will be shared with you a day before the test, and download the test on the App well before the actual test (see timeline below). Appear for the test for your selected specialization following the guidelines. Any attempt to use unfair practices at any stage will lead to disqualification from the admission process.
- Candidates will be informed if they are shortlisted from the written test. Once shortlisted, candidates should submit the detailed “Research Interest and Statement of Purpose” form.
- Candidates shortlisted from the written test will appear for the online interviews by the panel from the selected specialization. The interview time will be determined and communicated after the shortlisting.
