Airspace
Airspace, India's first national student magazine on Aerospace, has spread its wings to represent the national aerospace students' community. Spanning across IITs and IISc we intend to be a voice to reckon.
Trotting one's way in aerospace had never been easy, after all aerospace is a serious business. With the knowledge running from terabytes to petabytes, and the cosmic time restriction coupled with our own physical limits, one surely has to restrict one's area of work, thereby strangling off the interests that might have been nurtured since time unknown.
It was the realization of this gloomy fact, which compelled us to propel in the direction of an annual departmental magazine, with the sole aim of emanating knowledge, which would be easily comprehensible to a cross section, from people with basic knowledge of science behind aviation, all the way up to professionals.
Commenced in the autumn of 2005, it became a run away success. The departmental students found it as their holy grail, when it came to taking decisions for projects, summer internship or resolving dilemmas about M.S. and jobs. What took us with surprise was the ever increasing interest in Airspace amongst the students belonging to other departments. The expected bounds of popularity were broken with the second issue, when we got inquiries from other engineering colleges as well. With the limited print issues being grabbed like hot cakes and our inability to quench the thirst, we made the issue available electronically.
